This is basically herbal tea made from things mosquitoes do not like. However it smells very lovely to me! The best part about this spray is that it is safe for kids and pets. My kiddos LOVE this spray. My 18 month old son sprays this stuff in his mouth. He drinks more than we use for the bugs; crazy kid.
Safe, tasty, and fragrant… can’t go wrong there!
(yes that is a Merlot in the back ground… Red Rock, it is quite tasty!)
2-3 sprigs rosemary
1-2 cloves
2 cups water
Heat the water to just boiling. Add the herbs and spice allow to cool covered for an hour or longer. Poor into a spray container.
Use: apply as needed (every hour or so).
You can use any mint or a combination of mints. Catnip is best. I have used plain ole mint, peppermint, lemon balm, and chocolate mint. They all seem to work. The peppermint and lemon balm work better than the regular mint.
No deet; how cool is that, kids can ingest this without worries (unless your child has an allergy to any of the herbs).

LOL sorry I read the directions before reading “The best part about this spray is that it is safe for kids and pets.”
no worries hun! thank you so much for stopping in! Like i said my son loves to squirt it in his mouth, he is my little herbal fella.
Hi! Found you cause you posted on my FB. I am so glad I checked your page, so much helpful stuff! Do you know if this is safe for pets? My dog gets attacked and baby, I don’t put DEET on them for sure!
I remember reading last summer that catnip oil is actually supposed to be more effective than DEET. I usually just grab a handful of catnip and rub it on exposed skin, but this would be a little more portable.
Yes, catnip is said to be the best. Now if i could just keep my cat from eating my seedlings!
